Why the college runs them
University of Education degrees are taught and examined in English. A student who has done well at Intermediate in an Urdu-medium school can still lose marks — and confidence — to language alone in the first year. The college introduced English Language Proficiency classes to prevent exactly that, among the first institutions in the tehsil to do so.
What the classes cover
- Academic reading — textbooks, past papers, journal-style articles
- Academic writing — answering examination questions, assignments, reports
- Listening and speaking — following lectures, presentations, interviews
- Grammar and vocabulary — targeted at the mistakes students actually make
Classes are timetabled alongside degree courses, taught by the English department, and assessed at the start and end of each semester so progress is visible.
Beyond the degree
The same skills prepare students for competitive examinations (CSS, PMS, PPSC), for teaching posts, and for freelancing and remote work with clients abroad — all of which are conducted in English.

Is there an extra fee?
No. The classes are part of the college’s teaching and are included in the tuition fee.
Who are the classes for?
Every first-year student, with a placement assessment in the first week so that classes are set at the right level. Students in later years may join open sessions.
