Overview
The BS Computer Science programme at Alipur College is the University of Education, Lahore’s four-year computer science degree, taught here in Alipur so that students from Alipur, Jatoi, Khangarh and the surrounding tehsil do not have to move to Multan or Lahore to study it.
The programme follows the University’s approved scheme of studies: programming fundamentals and object-oriented programming in the first year, data structures, databases, operating systems and computer networks in the second and third, and software engineering, artificial intelligence and a final-year project in the fourth. Classes are taught in English with Urdu support, and every course with a laboratory component is taught in the college’s computer laboratories on Dell and HP workstations.
Students sit University of Education examinations at the end of each semester. The college tracks every student’s result, transcript and degree with the University until it is in their hands.
Who this suits. Students who enjoyed mathematics or computing at Intermediate and want a degree that leads directly to software, IT and freelancing work, government IT posts, or on to an MS.
