Overview
BS Information Technology is the University of Education, Lahore’s four-year degree in the practical side of computing: computer networks, database administration, web and mobile systems, operating systems, information security and IT project management. Alipur College teaches it in its own computer laboratories on Dell and HP workstations, following the University’s approved scheme of studies.
Where Computer Science asks how software is built, IT asks how an organisation’s systems are designed, connected, secured and kept running — the skills that banks, telecoms, government departments and small businesses in South Punjab hire for, and that freelancers sell to clients abroad.
Students sit University of Education examinations each semester, and the college follows up every result, transcript and degree until it is in the graduate’s hands.
Who this suits. Students who like working with real systems — setting up networks, managing data, building websites — and want a degree that leads directly to IT support, administration and web work, or on to an MS.
