Overview
BS English at Alipur College is the University of Education, Lahore’s four-year degree in English literature, linguistics and communication. The scheme of studies moves from foundation courses in reading, writing and grammar through the major periods of English literature, phonetics and morphology, discourse analysis, and research methods, ending with a research project.
The department also runs the college’s English Language Proficiency classes, so BS English students spend more time in structured English than any other programme on campus — the reason many go on to teach, write, or sit competitive examinations.
Students sit University of Education examinations each semester; the college follows up every result, transcript and degree until it is delivered.
