What studying close to home means
For many families in Alipur, Jatoi, Khangarh, Sitpur and Shehr Sultan, sending a child to Multan or Lahore is not only a fee question but one of lodging, travel and a daughter’s safety. Alipur College’s 12 programmes answer that question: the teaching is in Alipur, the degree is from the University of Education, Lahore. The on-campus hostel and pick-and-drop transport for female students have their own pages.
This guide does one job: it connects your Intermediate group to the programmes whose eligibility text covers it. The text is taken from the University of Education’s published eligibility (checked 3 September 2026) and the full table is on the eligibility page.
Your group and the programmes open to you
| Intermediate group | Named directly in the eligibility text | With an extra condition or office confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| FSc Pre-Engineering | BS Computer Science, BS IT, BS Chemistry, BS English, BS Economics, BS Education, BBA, ADP Computer Science, ADP IT | 50% for BS Computer Science; 50% in English for BS English |
| FSc Pre-Medical | BS Chemistry, BS English, BS Economics, BS Education, BBA, ADP Computer Science, ADP IT | BS Computer Science and BS IT: Mathematics or Computer Science (200 marks) condition; confirm with the office |
| ICS | BS Computer Science, BS IT, BS English, BS Economics, BS Education, BBA, ADP Computer Science, ADP IT | Not BS Chemistry (FSc required) |
| FA | BS English, BS Economics, BS Education, BBA, ADP Computer Science, ADP IT | BS IT: FA with Mathematics (200 marks) or Computer Science (200 marks); BS Computer Science: confirm with the office |
| I.Com | BS English, BS Economics, BS Education, BBA | ADP text does not name I.Com, only “or equivalent”; confirm with the office |
| D.Com | Not named in any programme’s text | The University decides under “or equivalent”; send your certificate to the office |
The twelfth programme, Post-ADP entry, comes after ADP rather than straight after Intermediate; the ADP or BS guide explains it. The two B.Ed programmes also come after a degree, not after Intermediate; see Why do a B.Ed?.
After Pre-Engineering
Pre-Engineering opens the most doors because it includes Mathematics. For BS Computer Science the University’s condition is 50% at Intermediate with Mathematics or Computer Science (200 marks); the BS Information Technology text names FSc (Pre-Engineering) with Mathematics explicitly. BS Chemistry requires FSc Pre-Medical or Pre-Engineering. If an engineering university did not work out, these three programmes carry the same science base forward.
After Pre-Medical
Missing a medical college place is the hardest moment for Pre-Medical students. BS Chemistry is the straight road for this group, because Pre-Medical is named explicitly in the eligibility. BS English, BS Economics, BS Education and BBA accept FSc in any group. ADP Computer Science and ADP IT also accept the Science stream. For BS Computer Science and BS IT the University’s text sets a Mathematics or Computer Science (200 marks) condition; the college has advertised Pre-Medical entry with a compulsory Mathematics deficiency course in the first year, so ask the office for the current rule before you apply.
After ICS
ICS holders already meet the condition for both computing BS programmes: BS Computer Science (with 50% marks) and BS Information Technology, whose text names ICS first. ADP Computer Science and ADP IT are the two-year alternatives. BS English, BS Economics, BS Education and BBA are open too. Only BS Chemistry is not, because it requires FSc.
After FA
The commonest misunderstanding after FA is that only a BA is left. That is not so. BS English (45% overall and 50% in English), BS Economics, BS Education and BBA all list FA in their eligibility. ADP Computer Science and ADP Information Technology name the Arts stream as eligible. The BS IT text includes FA when it carries Mathematics (200 marks) or Computer Science (200 marks). For BS Computer Science, confirm with the office.
After I.Com and D.Com
I.Com is named in the eligibility of BBA, BS Economics, BS English and BS Education; for those heading towards business and finance, BBA is the natural next step. The ADP text says “FA / FSc / ICS or equivalent” and does not name I.Com, so ask the office about ADP. D.Com is not named in any programme’s text; equivalence is decided by the University, not by us. Send your certificate and we will come back with the correct answer.
